COMMUNITY HAPPENINGS:
Come out and support the 21st Annual Terry Fox Run for Cancer Research, on Sunday September 16, 2001. Pledge sheets available at all branches of Prairie Pride Credit Union. Terry Fox T-shirts or Sweatshirts are available from Alida Branch, with all proceeds to the Run! Start time for the Run in Alida is at 1:00pm on Sun. Sept 16th at the Alida Community Hall. Pledge sheets can be picked up at the Credit Union from Brenda or Lorraine.
Fall Supper at Alida Community Hall to be held on Sunday November 4, 2001. Everybody welcome!
Friday October 19th, Explore the Magic of the Mind with JAMES GRANT *HYPNOTIST* at the Alameda School Gym. Cocktails at 5:00 pm, Supper at 6:00 pm , Show Time 8:00 pm. This is a FUND RAISING BANQUET FOR ALAMEDA CURLING CLUB. ONLY 150 TICKETS SOLD at $15.00 per person . Tickets available at Alameda Branch or call Bob Wolensky 489-4600.
Carievale has started planning for the Centennial to be held in 2003. PPCU has donated to the festivities to take place as well we will be participating in the parade.
Gainsborough Theatre will be starting its Fall Shows from Sept. 2 to Oct. 26 on Friday nights at 7:30 pm unless otherwise posted. Watch for movie listing. CHECK OUT THE BEST POPCORN IN SASKATCHEWAN!
Gainsborough Swimming Pool will be having its ANNUAL LADIES NITE OUT in November. Watch for posters and remember to GET TICKETS EARLY BEFORE THEY ARE SOLD OUT!!
Octoberfest in Gainsborough, sponsored by the GBO Theatre, will be held of course in October. They will be having supper and a movie. Watch for posters.
CONGRATULATIONS TO CARIEVALE on winning the GOLDEN GARBAGE CAN AWARD. Both Carievale and Gainsborough did an excellent job this year in preparation for the judging.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE SOUTHEAST STEELERS on their BRONZE MEDAL WIN at the Ladies Open Canadian Western Championship at Moose Jaw on Aug. 23 to Aug. 26. Way to go Ladies, your hard work paid off!
St. Joseph's Polka Fest will be held at the Glen Ewen Communiplex on Oct 14,2001,
Polka Mass: 11:00 am followed by brunch $5.00 EVERYONE WELCOME!
Dance 1:30 - 5:30 pm followed by supper Tickets for Dance and Supper $15.00 per person.
