CASUAL DAYS
The Casual Days fund is made up in each branch of funds donated by staff for dressing casual on Fridays. The amount donated by staff is then matched by Prairie Pride Credit Union.

Alameda Casual Fridays Fund amounted to $180.00. Groceries were bought locally and donated to the Food Bank.

UPCOMING EVENTS

ALIDA:
  • JUNE 21, 2003 - Alida Rink Auction. Items for donation are currently being accepted. Contact Brenda Junk or any Rec board member for more information.
  • Christmas Bingo in Alida on December 23rd.
  • Tentative date for the Oilmen's Bonspiel is Jan.15 - 20, 2003.
  • No dates yet for Ladies Spiel (probably in January). Watch for posters.
  • Act One production scheduled for March 6, 7, 8 and 9, 2003.

ALAMEDA:
The Alameda Minor Hockey Organization will be hosting SERGEI SINICIN'S RUSSIAN BOOT CAMP Jan 3-5/03 at the Alameda Rink. This is a 3-day hockey clinic. Sergei offers a high-calibre, disciplined approach to skill development for players of all ages. Players receive 7 hours ice time at the cost of $50.00. GAINSBOROUGH:

  • Gainsborough is hosting the Borderline/Southline Bonspiel. It begins the week of Jan. 20, 2003.
  • Village Players are getting ready for another play that they will be presenting in March of 2003.
  • Gainsborough Christmas Spiel will be on Dec. 26 & 27, 2002.
  • Gainsborough Rink is hosting a Soup & Sandwich Lunch once a month........watch for posters.
  • The Carievale Centennial Committee has sent "Autumn Leaves and Guilded Sheaves-Revisited" to the printer.

COURIER UPDATE

When members in the community drop off packages for Loomis at the credit union, The member must phone for the cost of shipping. The courier insists parcels MUST be completely ready when the courier picks them up and payments should be made by cheque.

HEINZ LABELS SAVE LIVES!

Another way to help sick and injured children is to collect the labels and UPC codes from Heinz baby food jars and cereal box tops and submit them to the Children's Health Foundation (CHF)!
